Today is a special day in here, it's United State's birthday of her 241-year-old.
we R going south to San Diego and celebrating it.

I-5 to San Diego. A southbound Metrolink to oceanside passing by.
In some section of the rail track was built along the I-5 highway.

Overview of Downtown San Diego.Santa Fe Depot(Union station of San Diego) in the front. The building in the right is the One America Plaze.

A Pacific Surfliner(Amtrak) in the front and a Coaster(Local Train)in the back with blue & green color is preparing their northbound trip to LA & Oceanside.
Short introduce of Southern California railway system. There r two options for U to travel between LA and San Diego.Pacific Surfliner, operating by Amtrak, takes 2h45m for the journey from LA Union Station to San Diego.MetroLink & Coaster, owning by the local government, providing routes from LA to Oceanside and Oceanside to San Diego separately.Means u hav to transfer in Oceanside but in lower price ticket than Amtrak's.

USS Midway(CV-41) is an ex-aircraft carrier of US navy that was built in 1945.She was retired in 1992 and towed to current site as a museum ship.

Detailed photo of bridge.
With several times of modern modification in her years of servicing, it's hard to believe it's a 72-year-old ship and still floating.

Onboard of the sightseeing ship.
Several choices for u to watching the scenery of the port in a different way .Speedboat or cruiser in different prices and experiences are worth to try.

Civilian boat and US Navy's Aegis cruiser USS Mobile Bay.San Diego is one of the biggest naval bases and the biggest one in the west coast(The biggest one is Newfolk in Virginia.), providing maintenance, supporting and other services to Pacific Fleets of US Navy.Like some military ports in the USA also, it's share some part in the port with civilian and commercial uses.

USS Midway, just right beside the downtown area.
U can also easily get here by train or light rail with a 15-minute-walk range from the Santa Fe deport.
